The State of Isobael...

If there's nothing more I hate, it's a double whammy of bad luck.

I've been dealing with a sudden case of depression AND writer's block, although I'm not sure if one feeds into the other, or one is caused by the other. Either way, it sucks major suckage and I'm rather tired of the whole thing.

I have stories upon stories all rambling around my brain, none of which really want to lend a hand in getting down into my word processor program. There are days I even wonder WHY I'm a writer when I can't seem to write.

In the meantime, I've been going through some of my old stuff, trying to clean them up, edit crap out now that I've learned a few new things. It's slow going, and watching the word count decrease in leaps and bounds makes it even more depressing for me.

It's a neverending cycle, isn't it?

Anyway...

Hey, for something different, go check out my other blog. My falconry blog. See some pictures of my kestrel. =)  http://isobael-falconry.blogspot.com/

Also, Romance in the Backseat is having a conference.
http://www.romanceinthebackseat.com/bbpcon.html

Bloggers and Publishers have the same goals, to bring in readers.  This Conference is to discuss what is working online to promote books and what we can do better.  How can we work together and with authors to bring readers online?  What are Publishers goals in working with Bloggers? What are Bloggers and Reviewers looking for?  Join us for panels, discussions and giveaways.

Check out the link and read up on what's going on!

Hey, about that slump -- it's not you, it's a thing...it's going around. On the 15 blogs I've checked into this morning nine of them have said they haven't written, don't want to and don't know why. Some call it writer's block, others blame it on physical, others blame it on depression. So don't take it personally, and don't think it's only you, it's not. I personally think it 's the weather, pre-spring blues because I have it too. Instead of writing I want to be outside putting my plants in the garden and I can't yet. So hang in there, it's not just you, we're all in this together.

Sorry you're having a rough time. I agree with Piedmont Writer! I took a walk outside at lunch (I'm in New York and today is the nicest in months!) and I feel rejuvinated. Try to get some fresh air and some sun! Hope it helps!

Thanks, Piedmont and Wendy!

It must be the weather. I want it to be Spring and Summer again. Tired of the cold and wet.

Maybe the moon phase, or some astrological junction...

Glad I'm not the only one...although not glad it's a slump for a lot of people.

=)
